The picture above showcases the wool of one of our ewes, Potter House Dutch. The dynamic color contrasts of a Harlequin Sheep are undeniable. The wool is softer than that of a Miniature Babydoll sheep.

Through careful selection in breeding pairs, our 2022 Miniature Harlequin lambs will be of the highest quality, blue eyed or blue eye gene carriers, and will range in generation class from B to AP allowing us to meet a variety of breeders needs. Please see our lamb page for available lambs and future breeding pairs.

History of the breed

Miniature Harlequin Sheep

A true American rare breed, the history of the Miniature Harlequin Sheep roots itself in Virginia over 35 years ago. A dual purpose meat and wool sheep, this small and docile breed produces black and white spotted lambs that are naturally polled (lacking horns), some of which carry the genes for blue eyes. Miniature Harlequin's are a hardy and healthy breed, producing fine medium staple length wool with a weight range of 80-120 lbs. (ewe) and 90-150 lbs. (ram) and a height of 24" or under at maturity. Perfect for a hobby farm, 4H participant or breeder of any age, the Miniature Harlequin Sheep is sure to be the best addition to your farm!
